Ingredients
- 2 oz cachaça or white rum
- 2 fresh passion fruits, pulp scooped out
- 1/2 lime, cut into wedges
- 2 tsp raw cane sugar or simple syrup
- 2 oz sparkling water or ginger beer
- Ice (crushed preferred)
- Fresh passion fruit half and lime wheel for garnish
- Mint sprig optional
Instructions
- Place lime wedges and sugar in a rocks glass. Muddle firmly until lime is fully juiced and sugar dissolved.
- Add passion fruit pulp (seeds and all — they're traditional and add texture). Muddle gently once or twice.
- Fill the glass with crushed ice.
- Pour cachaça over the ice.
- Top with sparkling water or ginger beer and stir once from the bottom.
- Garnish with a fresh passion fruit half cut-side up and a lime wheel on the rim.
- Serve immediately with a short straw for sipping through the passion fruit seeds.
