Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 cup passion fruit pulp (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup cachaca
- 1/2 cup coconut cream
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 3 cups ice cubes
- 2 tbsp sugar, or to taste
- Lime wheels, to garnish
- Toasted coconut flakes, to garnish
Instructions
- Add the passion fruit pulp, cachaca, coconut cream, condensed milk and lime juice to a blender.
- Add the ice and sugar and blend on high until thick, smooth and slushy.
- Taste and adjust with a little more sugar or lime for a bright tropical balance.
- If the slush is too thick, add a splash of cold water; if too thin, add a few more ice cubes and pulse.
- Run a lime wheel around the rims of 4 chilled glasses.
- Pour the frozen batida into the glasses.
- Garnish each with a lime wheel and a sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes.
- Serve immediately with short straws while frosty.
- The batida is Brazil's blended cocktail of choice, mixing cachaca with tropical fruit and creamy coconut. Frozen into a slush and brightened with passion fruit and lime, it captures the beachside energy of a Rio summer in every icy sip.
