Chill four glasses in the freezer while you prepare the slush.
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 3 cups frozen mango chunks
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 6 ounces white rum
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup simple syrup, or to taste
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg, plus more to garnish
- 1 tablespoon grenadine
- Lime wheels, to garnish
- Fresh mint sprigs, to garnish
Instructions
- Chill four glasses in the freezer while you prepare the slush.
- Add the frozen mango, ice, rum, lime juice, simple syrup, pineapple juice, and grated nutmeg to a blender.
- Blend on high until completely smooth and thick, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Taste and adjust with a little more simple syrup or lime juice to balance sweetness and acidity.
- Drizzle a little grenadine down the inside of each chilled glass for a sunset effect.
- Pour the frozen slush over the grenadine, letting the colors streak together.
- Garnish each glass with a lime wheel, a mint sprig, and a final grating of fresh nutmeg.
- Serve immediately with a straw before the slush begins to melt.
- Grenada is known as the Spice Isle, and its fragrant nutmeg perfumes rum punches served across the island. This frozen version turns that classic Caribbean punch into a cooling summer slush, where tropical mango and bright lime carry the warm, aromatic spice that defines Grenadian drinks.
