Frozen Guava Daiquiri with Fresh Lime and Mint

Frozen Guava Daiquiri with Fresh Lime and Mint

Chill two coupe or hurricane glasses in the freezer while you prepare the drink.

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 cup guava nectar or puree
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup, or to taste
  • 2 cups ice
  • Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish
  • Lime wheels, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chill two coupe or hurricane glasses in the freezer while you prepare the drink.
  2. Add the guava nectar, rum, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and ice to a blender.
  3. Blend on high until completely smooth and slushy, with no visible ice chunks.
  4. Taste and adjust, adding a little more simple syrup if the guava is very tart or more lime if you want extra brightness.
  5. Pour the frozen daiquiri into the chilled glasses.
  6. Garnish each with a fresh mint sprig and a lime wheel perched on the rim.
  7. The daiquiri was born in the seaside mines of Cuba and perfected in Havana's bars, a simple trinity of rum, lime and sugar that became a global icon. Swapping in fragrant tropical guava turns it into a frosty, sunset-hued cooler, exactly the kind of no-fuss blender drink that defines lazy summer afternoons.
