Smoky Mezcal Paloma

Ingredients

  • 2 oz mezcal
  • 3 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz agave syrup
  • 2-3 slices fresh jalapeño
  • Sparkling water to top
  • Tajín or chili-lime salt for rim
  • Grapefruit wedge for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Muddle jalapeño slices in a cocktail shaker to release the heat.
  2. Add mezcal, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave syrup with ice.
  3. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until well chilled.
  4. Rim a rocks glass with a grapefruit wedge and dip in Tajín or chili-lime salt.
  5. Fill the glass with fresh ice and strain the cocktail over it.
  6. Top with a splash of sparkling water. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge and jalapeño slice.
