  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 3 cups lemonade, divided
  • 6 cups ice, divided
  • 3 tablespoons sugar, divided
  • 1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt or whipped cream
  • Fresh berries and lemon wheels, for garnish

Instructions

  2. Rinse the blender and blend the blueberries with 1 cup of lemonade, 2 cups of ice and 1 tablespoon of sugar until smooth.
  3. Blend the remaining 1 cup of lemonade with 2 cups of ice and 1 tablespoon of sugar for the white layer.
  4. Spoon the red strawberry slush into the bottom of four clear glasses.
  5. Carefully add a layer of the pale lemonade slush over the back of a spoon.
  6. Top with the blue blueberry slush to complete the three colored layers.
  7. Crown each glass with a dollop of frozen yogurt or whipped cream and garnish with fresh berries and a lemon wheel.
  8. Frozen lemonade slushies are the classic thirst-quencher of American summer fairs and lemonade stands, and layering them in patriotic colors turns a simple drink into a party centerpiece kids adore. Cold, sweet-tart and alcohol-free, these red-white-and-blue slushies keep the youngest guests happy and cool while the grown-ups sip sangria at the Fourth of July cookout.
